Winter Cottonwoods Sunrise Fog

     Early morning winter air is a time for fog or fog like ice crystals to be seen floating in the air. With winter ice not yet formed on the river, sunrise was a wonderful time to capture silhouettes against a background of fog diffused light turned amber by the sun. The cottonwood trees on the riverbank had all shed their summer leaves and gone into their winter slumber. With the still river waters acting like an almost perfect mirror, it was difficult, when I was processing the image, to determine which way was up and which way was down.
