A Pathway Through Autumn
$0.00
For me, the desire (or goal) to achieve pixel perfect sharpness in an image is overrated. While advantageous for some subjects and images it is not so much so in many other creative photography efforts. It can limit your image-making creativity. As I had mentioned in previous posts, I try to blur the boundary between photography (as we have come to define it) and art. As there is beauty and softness in the brush strokes of a painter, the same feeling of softness and image abstraction can be found/created in the images we produce. We already use techniques of long exposures, ICM (Intentional Camera Movement), and many other methods to create images that are not sharp-focused copies of a scene. To create this image of an autumn path through a woodland in Holland, I chose to channel the creative methods of Renoir and used them to produce a more painting-like image. Doing so would create a visual look that would reflect the mood and feel I had gotten while walking along that path on that sunny afternoon.
