China Sichuan Mount Qingcheng and Temples 9843
$0.00
Mount Qingcheng is a sacred mountain in Sichuan, China and considered to be one the birthplace of Taoism. It makes it one of the most important religious sites in China. The mountain with its 36 peaks is tall, steep, rugged, and heavily forested. Because of its religious significance it has become the host to many monasteries and temples scattered across the mountain slopes. Some dating back to the 12th century.
The temples were constructed over two Chinese dynasties and, over time, have blended into a synergetic relationship with the forest. As fog enveloped the slopes the scene before me took on an almost ancient mystical feel. As I created this image I felt like I had experienced a time warp.
