Iceland Vestrahorn Mountains and Black Sand Beach 1158

     Tucked away on Iceland’s Stokksnes Peninsula, Vestrahorn rises out of the sea. It offers a dramatic backdrop of jagged peaks that create a breathtaking contrast against the black volcanic sands that spread out from its base. Combined, they capture the raw essence of the region. Taken during the late blue hour, this composition consists of two blended images. One was a rather long exposure to achieve the streaking clouds formations and another at a faster exposure to freeze both wave action and movement from wind.
