Indonesia Bali Sunrise Waves 5053MIN

     While international travel was banned during the pandemic I could island hop around Indonesia where I was marooned for over three years. I was sitting on a secluded beach in Bali before sunrise one morning listening to the peaceful, rhythmic sounds of the waves gently lapping on the shore. While there were no clouds to use in a composition, the rising sunlight painted the horizon in warm colors. Just as the sun broke the horizon, the leeward sides of all the small waves were cast in shadows creating an artwork of lines across the ocean surface. I used a 0.8 second exposure to soften the wave lines to create a more dreamier visual effect to the scene.
