Lake Shoji Mount Fuji Morning Fog

Lake Shōji is the smallest of the Fuji Five Lakes. Prior to an enormous lava flow from Mount Fuji during an eruption from 864-868 AD,  Lake Shoji, along with nearby Lake Motosu, and Lake Sai were actually one large lake. The lave flow divided the single lake into three smaller lakes. Lake Shoji is popular with sports and recreational fishermen, and it is not uncommon to see a local resident out trying their luck in the early morning hours. Such was case one morning that lit up the lake fog with golden light and surrounded the solo fisherman with Mount Fuji as a backdrop. It also backlit the canes growing in front of me on the shoreline. Great mood and story.
