     During higher tides, wave movement sculpts the beach in a fashion like that of winds sculpting desert sands. I was fortunate to capture the event of the receding tide waters as they flowed out following the channel patterns created by the deeper waters. With the sun still above the horizon the light reflecting off the draining waters made for silver patterns against the dark sand. Timing was everything because in a very short time after this image was made the waters had completely drained away leaving a solid color wet sand beach.
