Morocco Golden Sand Dunes 4652M

     That is not fog on the horizon. With the departure of a strong sandstorm, fine dust remained suspended in the air for many hours afterwards creating the haze-like effects. Another benefit from the storm was that the windward side of the dunes was smoothly polished erasing any tracks that there may have been prior to the storm’s arrival.  With the sun low in the sky, the light created contrast between the windward and leeward sides of the dunes both in tone and color. With warm colors on one side and cool colors on the other the wind’s artistic sculpting from the storm can be seen in the dune shapes.
